DIBRUGARH: Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh‘s parents Tarsem Singh and Balwinder Kaur on Thursday arrived from Punjab to meet their son on the high-security Dibrugarh Central Jail.
Accompanied by advocates Rohit Sharma and Rajdev Singh Khalsa (ex-Punjab MP), they reached the Dibrugarh jail at 11 am and entered the jail premises after finishing the required formalities. Amritpal was flown to Dibrugarh jail on April 23 after his arrest from Punjab’s Moga district. He has been booked underneath the National Security Act (NSA). His shut aide Papalpreet Singh, his uncle Harjit Singh and 7 different associates are lodged in the Dibrugarh jail after being slapped with the National Security Act.
Speaking to the media, advocate Rohit Sharma mentioned, “Amritpal’s parents have come to meet him for the first time after his arrest. I don’t have permission to meet Amritpal. Instead, I will meet his uncle Harjit Singh who is in Dibrugarh jail since March 21. We have moved bail applications of those Waris Punjab De members who were not booked under NSA in the Punjab and Haryana high court. Since Amritpal and his associates who are lodged in Dibrugarh jail have been booked under NSA, we have not applied for their bail yet.”
Sharma mentioned as of now, there isn’t any data concerning shifting the ten Waris Punjab De members from the Dibrugarh Central Jail to another jail.
