GUWAHATI: Assam police have detained 22 persons in connection to the reported class X state board examination query paper leak.
The normal science paper that was scheduled on Monday was cancelled the earlier evening after a handwritten query paper went viral on social media.
“Reference paper leakage case of General Science (C3) of HSLC examination being conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam – 22 persons have been detained at/from Guwahati, North Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sadiya, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia,” Assam DGP GP Singh tweeted on Tuesday morning.
“Further lawful action as mandated by law is being taken against them. We remain committed to unearth the network of people involved in the leakage of the question paper and the conspirators,” Singh added.
Meanwhile, training minister Ranoj Pegu stated an investigation is in progress however he didn’t squarely blame the Board of Secondary Education Assam for the goof-up. “We may have to wait for some time for the outcome of the investigation,” he stated.
Assam CID on Monday grilled two senior officers of the board, alongside with a couple of academics and staff of an examination centre in town whereas initiating the probe.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the colleges, whose college students have been detained, assured full cooperation to the investigation.
