GUWAHATI: Assam Police has attended grievances of over 500 civilians throughout the state on Monday, the primary day of the brand new initiative taken by the police division for public grievance redressal by senior officers.
Assam DGP GP Singh, after taking cost on January 31, introduced that the brand new mechanism could be launched within the state as a part of police reform to offer a platform to individuals to get direct entry to senior cops equivalent to SPs, DIGs and above, for 2 hours on all working days.
He believes that the initiative will scale back the hole between the general public and police and assist in addressing public grievances, which regularly fall into deaf ears as typically alleged by individuals.
