
Guwahati: Hundreds of labourers akin to ASHA and Anganwadi staff and farmers from completely different elements of Assam gathered in Guwahati on Saturday, demanding ‘mazuri’ (wages) and not ‘manoni’ (honorarium) from the federal government and employers. They additionally criticised the Narendra Modi-led dispensation on the Centre, alleging that his authorities has taken away the rights of the working class.

Addressing the gathering, veteran CPM chief Hemen Das alleged that the Modi authorities since 2014 has adopted extra anti-worker steps than another authorities within the nation ever. “So, right from the ASHA and Anganwadi workers to the mid-day meal cooks, has now come out demanding their due.
