Guwahati: Congress’s Assam president Bhupen Borah on Friday accused BJP of striving to stifle Rahul Gandhi’s voice by taking a “vindictive approach” to disqualify him from the membership of Parliament in haste.
“Rahul Gandhi has been vocal against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government and exposed how the government pushed the State Bank of India and LIC into a dying condition by taking wrong decisions. He has also been vocal on the Adani row and has been demanding a joint parliamentary committee probe into it. He has continuously exposed the wrong deeds of the government both inside and outside Parliament. This is the reason the BJP government is scared of and therefore, they made an attempt to stifle his voice,” Borah mentioned.
Borah alleged that the BJP authorities didn’t give an opportunity to Rahul for the authorized battle even.
He added that altogether 28 political events throughout the nation joined the current Bharat Jodo Yatra, extending assist to Rahul Gandhi and BJP was scared by the growing public assist for Rahul and Congress.
“It is nothing but a conspiracy to stifle his voice as they (BJP) know that Rahul is the only alternate leader in the country. Congress will continue fighting legally and will also take the movement to the people to dethrone BJP from power,” he added.
