
GUWAHATI/DIMAPUR: BJP candidates emerged victorious in two assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland after they have been left alone in the fray on the finish of the final day of withdrawal of nominations on Friday.
In Nagaland, Kazheto Kinimi was re-elected unopposed from the Akuluto assembly constituency after his solely opponent and Congress candidate Khekashe Sumi withdrew his candidature, giving BJP its first win even earlier than the polling on February 27.
In Arunachal, BJP’s Tsering Lhamu was declared elected the MLA of Lumla constituency in Tawang district with out a contest in the by-poll that was scheduled for February 27. Lhamu, the spouse of former BJP MLA Jambey Tashi, was the one candidate who had filed her nomination for the by-election to the seat.
