
GUWAHATI: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has requested the Board of Secondary Education Assam (Seba) to cancel the board examination held in all these centres where experiences of malpractices have been confirmed by the respective deputy commissioners.
Seba on Monday swung into motion after its secretary Naranarayan Nath was summoned by the chief minister, following a number of incidents of dishonest and alleged use of smartphones contained in the examination centres. At the Ganigram exam centre in Cachar district, 5 individuals had been arrested for supplying cheat-sheets to the examinees on the primary day of the examination on Friday. “Seba has sought reports from the district-level committees about the anomalies. As per the reports, we will announce re-examination, if needed,” Seba controller of examinations NJ Sarmah stated.
