Guwahati: Unidentified assailants attacked a senior lawyer with acid in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, police stated on Saturday.
The incident passed off on Friday on the Gossaigaon space. The sufferer was recognized as Abdus Samad Ahmed, a resident of Padmabil village who represents the Gossaigaon Lawyer’s Association as a senior advocate.
The assailants reportedly broke into Ahmed’s home and hurled acid on his face, based on the police. He was rushed to the RNB Civil Hospital, however was later transferred to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
A case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, the bar affiliation at Gossaigaon has demanded stern actions towards the culprits concerned behind this incident. Agencies
