GUWAHATI: A “dreaded dacoit” Assam police claimed to have eradicated in an encounter final month was really a small-time farmer, in keeping with an inquiry ordered by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma following the confusion over identities, reviews Prabin Kalita.
The CID mentioned after its probe that the deceased was not dacoit Kenaram Boro alias Kenaram Basumatary but one Dimbeswar Muchahary who, in keeping with his household, was a small-time farmer. But the police claimed Dimbeswar, 40, additionally had legal information.
